Insights
SegmentIQ automatically analyses your segment metrics and generates insight badges to highlight areas that need attention. Each insight has a specific threshold that triggers it.

Insight Types
Discount Dependency
Trigger: Discount rate exceeds 60%
This segment relies heavily on discounts. More than 60% of orders used a discount code. Consider whether these customers would purchase without a discount, or if you've trained them to wait for deals.
Badge colour: Red
Neglected Segment
Trigger: Discount rate below 10% (with sufficient order volume)
This segment is barely receiving any discounts. If this is a valuable segment, you might be leaving money on the table by not incentivising repeat purchases. If it's already high-performing without discounts, this could be a good sign.
Badge colour: Yellow
High Discount Cost
Trigger: Discount cost % exceeds 15%
You're giving away more than 15% of this segment's revenue as discounts. This directly eats into your margins. Review whether the discount-driven orders are truly incremental or if customers would have purchased anyway.
Badge colour: Red
Revenue Concentration
Trigger: A single segment accounts for more than 50% of total revenue
Your revenue is heavily concentrated in one segment. This is a risk — if that segment's behaviour changes, it would significantly impact your business. Consider diversifying your customer acquisition and retention across segments.
Badge colour: Orange
Low Sample Size
Trigger: Fewer than 20 orders in the selected period
There aren't enough orders to draw reliable conclusions about this segment. Try expanding the date range, or wait for more data to accumulate.
Badge colour: Grey
Multiple Insights
A segment can have multiple insights at the same time. For example, a segment could be both "Discount Dependent" (high discount rate) and "High Discount Cost" (high margin impact).
