SegmentIQ is built by Marvel Labs. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Data we collect
SegmentIQ accesses the following data from your Shopify store using read-only API permissions:

Data we do not collect or store
- No personal customer information — we store Shopify customer IDs only, never customer names, emails, addresses or phone numbers
- No payment information — we never access card or payment details
- No browsing data — we do not track your customers' browsing
- Your store contact details are not stored — they are used only to send the welcome email
How we use data
Data is used only to compute discount metrics and insights inside SegmentIQ, to answer your questions in Shopify Sidekick when you use it, and to send you a single welcome email after install. We do not:
- Sell your data
- Use your data for advertising
- Share your data with other merchants
- Add you to mailing lists
- Use your data to train AI or machine learning models
Service providers
- Railway hosts the app and its database
- Resend delivers the welcome email
Data storage
- Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway
- All connections use TLS encryption
- Authentication tokens are encrypted at rest
- Access is restricted to essential service operations
Data retention
- Your data is kept while the app is installed
- When you uninstall, all of your store's data is deleted within 48 hours
- You can ask for deletion at any time by emailing us
GDPR compliance
SegmentIQ supports all of Shopify's required GDPR webhooks:
- Customer data request — we respond to data access requests within 30 days
- Customer data erasure — we delete customer-related data on request
- Shop data erasure — all store data is deleted after the app is uninstalled
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — email us and we'll provide an export
- Delete your data — uninstall the app or email us
- Correct your data — data comes from Shopify, so corrections in your store are picked up automatically
