Is SegmentIQ read-only?​

Yes. SegmentIQ only reads data from your store. It never creates, changes, or deletes any orders, customers, discounts, products, or any other data. The app requests only read permissions.

Which discount apps does it work with?​

SegmentIQ works with any discount source. It reads discount information from your orders, not from the discount app itself, so it works with:

  • Native Shopify discount codes
  • Automatic discounts
  • Discount Ninja
  • Regios
  • Promi
  • Any other app that applies discounts to orders

Does "went to recent full-price buyers" mean the discount was wasted?​

Not always. It means the customer had placed a full-price order shortly before, so they may have bought without the discount. SegmentIQ's figures are estimates from order history, not proof of what a discount caused. The surest way to know is a test, such as a smaller offer for part of a segment.

How often is data updated?​

New and updated orders arrive automatically as they happen. Customer segment membership is refreshed every night. You can also start a fresh sync from the Settings page.

How far back does historical data go?​

The first sync imports the last 12 months of orders. The free verdict looks at the last 90 days; the Pro report looks at the last 180 days.

What happens when I uninstall?​

  1. Shopify notifies SegmentIQ, and your store's data is deleted from our servers within 48 hours
  2. Your Shopify store is unaffected, because SegmentIQ never writes to it
  3. If you reinstall later, a fresh sync imports your data again

Can I export my data?​

Yes, on Pro. Use Download CSV at the top of the discount report.

What Shopify plans are supported?​

SegmentIQ works with all Shopify plans.

How are customer segments defined?​

SegmentIQ uses the customer segments you've already created in your Shopify admin (Customers → Segments). It doesn't create its own segments; it measures yours.

Does it work with Shopify Sidekick?​

Is my data secure?​

Yes. SegmentIQ:

  • Uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transfer
  • Encrypts authentication tokens at rest
  • Stores Shopify customer IDs only, never customer names or emails
  • Never sells or shares your store data
  • Supports Shopify's required GDPR webhooks
