Onboarding

After installing SegmentIQ, you'll see the onboarding screen with a progress bar showing the initial sync.

What Happens During Onboarding​

SegmentIQ performs a one-time initial sync to import your store's data:

  1. Syncing segments — fetches all customer segments from your store
  2. Syncing discounts — imports all discount codes and automatic discounts
  3. Syncing orders — bulk imports your order history (this is the longest step)
  4. Computing metrics — calculates performance metrics for each segment
  5. Generating insights — analyses metrics to surface actionable findings

How Long Does It Take?​

The initial sync typically takes 1–3 minutes depending on your order volume. Stores with tens of thousands of orders may take a few minutes longer.

The progress bar updates in real-time so you can see exactly where things stand.

Can I Leave the Page?​

Yes. The sync runs in the background. You can close the tab and come back later — SegmentIQ will pick up right where it left off and show you the dashboard once everything is ready.

Troubleshooting​

If the sync seems stuck for more than 10 minutes:

  • Refresh the page — the progress indicator may just need to reconnect
  • Check your order count — very large stores (100k+ orders) take longer
  • Reinstall if needed — uninstalling and reinstalling will restart the process cleanly
